Course Outline:
Beginners: Introduction to the wheel: cylinders and bowls. We will focus on all aspects of proper throwing including preparing the clay, centering, pulling techniques, finishing and design options. Students will also learn about trimming, adding handles and three different types of color application.

Intermediate: Intermediate wheel work and introduction to slab work. This course is designed for those who are comfortable centering clay on the wheel and have accomplished beginner pulling techniques. Topics included are forming a proper bowl and plate as well as adding lids, knobs and flanges to cylinders. We will also learn soft and stiff slab techniques.

About the Classes/Fees:
Beginner and intermediate classes are six weeks in duration and cost $180.00 plus HST. All tools, glazes and firings are included. Clay must be purchased separately. Classes are limited to 5 students.

Peggy offers pottery classes for adults in her Saltair, BC studio which has been designed to accommodate small classes, thereby ensuring one on one attention to each student.
